Welcome to Sheffield Centralians CC

Who are we?

Founded in 1951 by old boys of High Storrs School - formerly the Central Secondary School - Sheffield Centralians is a thriving amateur cricket club. We have players from all walks of life - old and young, from Sheffield and further afield - brought together by a love of cricket.

Where do we play?

Our home ground is positioned just a mile away from the heart of the city, at Sheffield Works Sports and Social Club on Heeley Bank Road in S2.

What league do we play in?

In 2017 Sheffield Centralians will compete in Division One (Ist XI) and Division Four (2^nd XI) of the Yorkshire & Derbyshire League on Saturdays. In addition, we run a midweek team in the Sheffield Works League, play a number of Sunday friendly fixtures, and compete in the Winter Indoor League.

The coming 2017 Season

2016 saw our Ist XI promoted back to the top tier and will start 2017 in division one. Our aim is to continue to build the team, gain confidence again in our ability and challenge for the top spot in our first season back.

The 2nd XI finished mid table in their league on a Saturday, with some noteable victories against the top teams. The midweek side will be starting 2017 in division two of the Sheffield Works Midweek League

Building a stronger club

We have continued to improve the playing facilities at Olive Grove in recent seasons, and now boast one of the best batting wickets in the league. We practice indoors during the winter, run outdoor nets during the season, and organise a variety of club social events.
